Benton Alewife Festival
Come join us at the Benton Alewife Festival, a celebration of Benton’s annual Alewife harvest and successful fish elevator program. Attendees are treated to a number of free activities that focus on the “Maine outdoors” while learning about the importance of the Alewife to the Maine ecosystem.
Benton is home to the largest Alewife run on the East Coast with more than 6 million fish in 2024. The festival includes live music, food, samples of smoked alewives, guided trail walks, arts & craft projects, face painting, games, exhibitors and demonstrations.
