Tracking Dora Riparia river barriers
The Marble trout – Salmo marmoratus (Cuvier, 1829) represents one of the most valuable endemisms of Italian waters, an endemism however put in great crisis by the multiple alterations of the aquatic ecosystems that hosted it and still partly host it. The Dora Riparia river still host a valuable population of this endemism that is on great focus of Spinning fishing anglers using catch&release technique but at the same time it is increasingly plagued by the construction of mini hydro power plants and in general by the construction of dams and trivialization of habitats. The friends and associates of Spinning Club Italia are going to the Dora Riparia river during the week between May 14 and May 21 hiking along the river, catch and release fishing and tracking the barriers using AMBER Barrier Tracker application.
