Glass Eel Rescue

Thanks to the Glass-Eel-Rescue project, funded by the Emilia-Romagna Region, and with the support of the Civil Engineering Department, the University of Bologna Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences, together with Costa Edutainment SpA, is organizing this year’s inauguration of a special climbing ladder for juvenile eels (elbow eels), with some releases, at the Ponte degli Scout in Rimini on the Marecchia River.

Mats will also be installed on the climbing ladder to complete the natural corridor available to all migratory fish.

A unique event in Italy is scheduled for Thursday, May 21st, to celebrate World Fish Migration Day, with the official inauguration of the climbing ladder, before the public, the relevant authorities, the media, and national television stations.
