Trout live between rivers in Wales and elsewhere in Europe and the sea.

To celebrate these silvery forms of Brown Trout that overcome diverse obtacles across rivers in Europe to make out to the sea to eat and grown and then to power back upstream to reproduce, we created Shout Trout Workout, a colourful and poetic comic book that shares about these fishes life cycle along with a number of interactive activities to engage children (and people of all ages). This comic book and a short video we designed to guide children through the ‘create your own poster’ at the back of the book will be presented by Merryn Thomas (author of the book) and Stephanie Januchowski-Hartley at YGG YLogin Fach school on Thursday 19 May as an early World Fish Migration Day celebration! The posters created by children at YGG Y Login Fach will be exchanged with students at Pomio Primary in East New Britain, Papua New Guinea as a way to co-celebrate fish migrations that occur across the two regions.

To continue the migratory fish celebration, the comic books, video, and related teacher/parent/guardian resources will be available to everyone around the world on FIRE Lab Kids website https://firelabkids.uk/ from 21 May 2022.
