Isalnita and Zaval – Bechet

Isalnita Reservoir is situated on Jiu River, NW from Craiova city and close to the homonymous petrochemical and thermal power plant industrial complex. In the last decades, the lake has served as a lifeline for local communities, providing essential water resources for agriculture, industry, and domestic use. The river stretch from Zaval village to Bechet town encompasses the lowermost kilometers of Jiu River, its confluence with Danube River and one of its Romanian fluvial ports, with rich history and geography.
