Free flow for Black Volta River in ensuring sustainable fisheries resources
The event is the to create watershed awareness and direct involvement in ensuring river free flow for the fisheries resources in the Black Volta River.
Key areas of focus for the celebration are:
· Safeguarding river free flow
· Improving the public’s understanding of the importance of free flow in a transboundary river
· Sensitizing the public on activities that affect free flow
· keeping our water bodies clean to ensure the survival of fishes
Key Partners
Agencies to partner in the implementation of activities towards this year’s celebration of WFMD include the Fisher men and mongers’ associations, Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), Fisheries Commission (FC), MMDAs, Forestry Commission, Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, IUCN, and Environmental Protection Agency.
