On Tuesday, April 9th, at 10 a.m., the NGO Rio Paraná, in partnership with the Municipal Government of Castilho, will hold the first event in celebration of World Migratory Fish Day at the Maria Dauria Silva Oliveira Elementary and Infant School, located in the rural area of Castilho. Around 150 public school students will attend the event, featuring a lecture by biologists, environmentalists, and the Environmental Military Police on the importance of preserving the fish species of the Paraná River. The event will conclude with about 60 students participating in the release of 20,000 native Pacu and Curimbatá fish species. This release is sponsored by the CTG company, a supporter of the event, which will also provide a professional to discuss with students the management of threatened species in the river.

Furthermore, on the same day, the start of a cultural contest will be announced for the school students, awarding the best essay on the topic with a laptop. The students will also have the opportunity to participate in an international drawing competition organized by the World Fish Migration Foundation, a non-governmental organization based in the Netherlands.
