To celebrate World Fish Migration Day 2024, Seqwater and UNSW Sydney are hosting a webinar for invited guests about a new fishway design.  The Tube Fishway being developed by UNSW Sydney is a novel new fishway design that aims to produce a relatively low cost and low energy input system. The design effectively pumps fish through a collection chamber and series of tubes, to deliver the fish up and over barriers, all the while being protected in a cushion of water.

Seqwater are working collaboratively with researchers from UNSW Sydney (Water Research Laboratory & Centre for Ecosystem Science) to undertake a field trial of the prototype Tube Fishway. The trial will field test, measure and learn how the Tube Fishway operates in real world conditions and use this information to refine the Tube Fishway design and seek improvements. The online invitation only event for WFMD brings together Seqwater stakeholders and invited guests interested in new fishway technology, to hear about the Tube Fishway progress to date.
