To celebrate World Fish Migration Day, highlighting the importance of maintaining healthy rivers and river connectivity, let’s go for a guided river trail along the Ribeira dos Rouxinóis.
This trail is part of the Quinta do Furadouro Biodiversity Station (EBIO), and is integrated into a property managed by Altri Florestal, constituting a 2km circular route with 8 information panels on local biodiversity with emphasis on fish, amphibians, insects and riverine vegetation.

The Portuguese Association of Water Resources (APRH) is a scientific and technical association, nonprofit, formed by notarial deed of August 4, 1977, published in the “Diário da República” no. 204 – 3rd grade, 3 September 1997, with amendments adopted by the General Meeting of 19 February 1986 and notarial deed dated 6 October 1986. The Association, is installed in Lisbon, in facilities provided by the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering, aims to promote multisectoral and interdisciplinary treatment of water problems by providing a forum for professionals from diverse backgrounds and fields of activity connected with water.

The Biodiversity Station of Quinta do Furadouro is a 2 km nature walk, where you can find 8 posters with scienific information on species that can be seen along the footpath. The posters are akin to a field guine, displaying picture and comments about common plants and animals.
