Trekvissen op de Waal; ankerkuilvisserij
Anchor pit fishing should provide more insight into the amount and types of plastics in the river water, so that this problem can be tackled effectively. The plastics section is being developed by Rijkswaterstaat East Netherlands. Naturally, the downstream migration of migrating fish such as salmon smolts, adult eels, and juvenile shad will also be monitored and the status of these populations of vulnerable fish species will be investigated. An important point of attention is whether the many ships sailing on the Rhine have an effect on the migratory fish populations.
