World Fish Migration Day celebrated in the Amur ecoregion

More than 7,500 people celebrated the holiday on banks of the Amur River and its tributaries with support of WWF-Russia, China and Mongolia.

For the first time all three countries of the Amur ecoregion Russia, Mongolia and China were involved in its celebration. Altogether the WFMD events were held by 9 nature reserves, five national parks, 2 student nature protection brigades, 8 public organizations and 3 research institutes, all of them are WWF partners.

Under one slogan “Save the rivers for fish and people” the World Fish Migration Day united 20 government, scientific and public organizations from the source to the mouth on both sides of the Amur River in Russia.
