Headwaters to Sidewaters to Estuaries: Improving watershed connectivity and processes through restoration, revitalization, remediation and reintroduction.

The conference dates back to 2011 and is intended to bring together engineers, biologists and others with interest in river restoration, particularly with respect to ecological connectivity and fish passage issues. The conference mission is to advance the science and practice of fish passage by providing a forum where researchers, managers, practitioners, and policy makers can share ideas, experiences, and advances. The conference emphasizes integrating cutting edge biology, hydraulics, hydrology, and geology with engineering design and river management to address the complex questions needed to advance the effectiveness of river restoration efforts. An important goal of this conference is affordability and accessibility, with locations and hosting institutions selected that offer affordable lodging and facilities as well as access to important resource management sites.
